THE START

In 2018 Erika and Kayla were working as nurses, and feeling ready for a change. They shared a love of aesthetics and dermatology but that dream job, and the path to it, were unclear.

Despite this, the “what-ifs” texted back and forth between long days at the hospital didn’t stop, and that pivotal leap of faith was taken in 2019 when they started Organic Glow Medical Aesthetics from a small rented room in the South Pandosy area of Kelowna. They quickly earned clients' trust with medical knowledge, and sponged in every bit of aesthetics education they could.

GROWING THROUGH CHALLENING TIMES

As a new business ready to take on 2020, the pandemic hit the Organic Glow team full force as they felt called to returned full time to pandemic efforts and scaled back their business and even closed their doors temporarily. With a move into a new rented space, and reopening their doors amid the pandemic, they were scared it was the end of their dream.

To their surprise, new and returning clients filled the books looking for ways to relax and find self care amid the chaos, and Organic Glow was back. Since then Erika and Kayla have continued their education, grown their team, and are continually adding new services at the clinic.

In 2021 they opened up their own location in the North End of downtown Kelowna, a space that reflects their purpose and passion in the field, designed to make clients feel immediately at home. While they still keep a foot in the medical door working in acute and community care, their dream job has come to full fruition and they can confidently say they love what they do every day.

Owner, Registered Nurse

KAYLA HOMULOS

Kayla is a Registerd Nurse and has gained experience working in both acute care and medical aesthetics. She is certified by the Canadian Association of Medical Aesthetics and is a member of the Dermatology Nurses Association. She is a certified Master Hydrafacialist as well as a Clinical Trainer with Inmode. Kayla's passion lies within creating tailored treatment plans for her clients through combining medical-grade skincare, facial treatments, and injectables. She has put her heart and soul into creating a space where people can leave feeling better than they did walking in. Kayla loves hiking and being outdoors in her spare time, or finding new recipes to try!

Owner, Registered Nurse

ERIKA WIKLUND

Erika is a registered nurse from Kelowna, and graduated with a BScN from UBCO. She a member of the Dermatology Nurses Association, and is certified through the Canadian Association of Medical Aesthetics. She spent several years working in acute and primary care nursing. She has a passion for education and keeping the client's needs her top priority. Creating caring relationships and healing unhappy skin are her favourite parts of aesthetics. The Organic Glow clinic is her happy place, but when she's not working she loves reading, gardening, and being out at her family's farm.

ABBEY GARANT

Abbey completed her BScN in 2020 at UBCO and has since specialized in Mental Health & Substance Use nursing. Her passion for skin originated from her experience with acne at a young age, and now she hopes to help others heal their skin. She is looking forward to creating trusting relationships and to make every client look and feel their absolute best! Boosting client’s confidence and wellbeing is her top priority at OGMA. By helping clients develop a comprehensive approach to their skin goals, she strives to provide the right solution for any client. Abbey enjoys spending all 4 seasons outside, being active and exploring the Okanagan region. She loves time with family, friends, and her puppy Ralph.

LINDSAY MORITZ

Lindsay brings a wealth of expertise and passion for helping clients achieve their best skin. Her love for skincare began over a decade ago, when she started learning and perfecting her own routines. Inspired by the transformative power of skincare, she turned her passion into a career and became a Medical Aesthetician in 2022. With a focus on personalized treatments, Lindsay is dedicated to empowering her clients and making them feel confident in their skin. Whether through advanced treatments or expert guidance, she ensures that each client receives a tailored approach to their unique skin needs.

DR. HANNAH GIBSON

Dr. Hannah Gibson is a family doctor specializing in medical aesthetics.

She loves the artistry in cosmetic medicine, and will work with you to enhance your natural beauty.

Her favourite part of aesthetic medicine is creating relationships based on trust and delivering stunning individualized results.

Outside of clinic, you'll find Dr Gibson skiing, biking or on the lake with her dogs!

Physician

DR. RICHARD VAN DER ROSS

Dr. Richard van der Ross has been a practicing physician for 23 yrs having worked in the UK, Namibia, South Africa and Canada.

He has his specialist designation in family practice and anesthesia.

He continues to practice as a general practitioner and hospitalist in Kelowna.

His special interests are mastery of medicine, functional medicine and medical aesthetics.

For fun, he loves backcountry running and any water sport.

Registered Dietitian

KRISTY HODGINS

Kristy is a Registered Dietitian with 12 years of nutrition experience working in a variety of areas, including acute care in hospital, diabetes, weight management, disordered eating, gastrointestinal health, oncology, and general healthy eating. After having completed a BSc in Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan, an 8-month internship, and a nationally accredited licensing exam, her career took her across Canada before setting down in Kelowna in 2016. Kristy is passionate about plant-based nutrition, gastrointestinal health, and how nutrition impacts our skin. Hint: these all go together! Skin has always been a passion, so learning how nutrition plays a role in prevention of skin aging, damage, and overall promoting healthy glowing skin from the inside became a priority, especially in the Kelowna sun! I strive to provide you with individualized nutritional counselling, answer your questions and make nutrition easy for you! In her spare time, Kristy enjoys the outdoors, trying new restaurants and wines, or staying in and cooking!
